Creative Energy Designs provides many window treatment options to insulate your windows, but they’re most notable for their signature creation made in-house, Window Warmers. A window warmer is a shade made of one of thousands of designer fabrics. When you drop the shade down, there are hinged-clamps around the perimeter of the window that fold over the side of the shade to keep cold drafts out. They don’t limit themselves there, however. You can also purchase window treatment options from reputable brands such as Hunter Douglas, Architella, Cellular Shades, and several other well-known names and products in the industry. Creative Energy wants to use their forty-one years of experience to collaborate with your own ideas to give you the best window treatment possible.

Creative Energy Designs’ workroom makes custom drapes, shades, and blinds. Additionally, work with their designers to create custom bedspreads, bed caps, and pillow shams, or choose from their inventory of designer pillows and bolsters. If you have a piece of furniture that you don’t want to part ways with, bring it in and see if they can re-upholster it for you or even create a fabric wall covering! If your eyes aren’t what they used to be, let Creative Energy Designs measure your windows, walls, and floors for you. Their team will assist you in picking out the perfect interior design and experienced installers will gladly get your space set up for you!

Prior to Creative Energy Designs Incorporation, the business started out as Creative Energy Products. Window Warmers was a community-funded idea to spread awareness about the need to conserve energy. The organization initially spent their time traveling around informing the public at energy exhibitions and fairs explaining their thoughts and ideals. The group received a grant and began the first design of the Window Warmer in 1977. It was supposed to be a do-it-yourself concept that anyone could recreate in their free time for themselves or loved ones, but the feedback kept spilling in about how, “they had not time to make their own.” The collective of individuals asked one question, “Could we produce one for you?” and the rest is history.

After two years, Creative Energy was operating out of a storefront to create and sell their Window Warmers. Likewise, they started selling other window insulators too in an effort not to limit themselves. The company changed their name in 2010 to accommodate for the added services the business now provided. It wasn’t until 2016 when Creative Energy Designs relocated to their current location at 125 South Dickinson Street. Stop in and see how you can insulate your windows and browse the, “hundreds of fabric books to look through.”
