The Beginning
First Choice Dental started out as three different dental offices. One in West Madison, Downtown Madison, and the third on Madison’s Eastside. In 1996, they decided to combine their efforts and become on united practice. First Choice Dental experienced consistent growth to where they added two new locations, one on the University of Wisconsin Madison Campus and another in Fitchburg. The Downtown Madison location was torn down and completely rebuilt in 2000.
Great Growth
This did not hinder their growth, however, as in 2002, another location was established in Verona. The Verona offices are where the ever-expanding support team would work from. First Choice Dental started to see rapid growth with a Middleton location erected in 2003, followed by the Sun Prairie practice in 2007. The board of owners quickly realized they would need more help, and hired a Chief Financial Officer in 2008.
Standard Operating Procedure
The need to create a universal patient experience made itself apparent and the stakeholders had to reshape the business model if they wanted to grow successfully. With a five-year break, the Waunakee building opened in 2013. Two years later, First Choice Dental made a wise decision to move their clinical support staff from Verona and placed them on the West side of Madison. Another two years passed, and First Choice Dental took a huge step by opening a second clinic in Sun Prairie on the Northside and a location in Stoughton.
Where They Are Today
Who would have guessed three dental practices could flourish to eleven? The eleven clinics rose to the top of the industry with their patient satisfaction, but they didn’t stop there. Patient fulfillment is important, but the stakeholders wanted to see their employees happy in order to keep giving patients the best care they could. First Choice Dental strives to be the recommended choice for all hygienists, doctors, and even administrative personnel, and they show no signs of slowing.
