Just across the street from the aforementioned Mickey’s Tavern in Dog-Friendly Restaurants, you can scoop your pup some grub before taking them over to pour one back! MadCat Pet Supplies was established in 2002 and has been voted Madison’s Favorite Pet store by Isthmus Readers for over ten years. Madisonians have put their faith and developed a trusting relationship with MadCat for their pet’s dietary and behavior needs. Today, MadCat has three storefronts located around Madison. The staff at MadCat strive “to be relentless servants to our community and the cats and dogs they love.” Their focus is to make pet owners understand how close housecats are to lions and tigers while dogs are almost wolves – and neither of the two ever ate corn gluten meal. MadCat has backed No-Kill rescues such as Don’t Shoot the Cat and Madison Cat Project.

Another conveniently located pet store, directly across the street from Monty’s Blue Plate Diner referred to in Dog-Friendly Restaurants, is Bad Dog Frida. The staff has extensive experience when it comes to dog care, such as acupuncture, chiropractic therapy, and massage. Some of the staff have been privileged to attend speakers such as Dr. Karen Becker, Dr. Chris Bessent, and Dr. Patricia McConnell. Furthermore, the employees have had hands-on training with local veterinarians and behaviorists. While not certified veterinarians, the team at Bad Dog Frida has plenty of excellent professionals to connect you with.
