Why Did Eric Establish Stone Creek Coffee?

Eric Resch, founder of Stone Creek Coffee, would spend his days as a child wandering through woods along a creek near his parents’ cabin in North Wisconsin. Making his way underneath the cover of trees, he adventured and learned about nature through the means of a curious eight-year-old boy. Fast forward sixteen years, Resch wanted to implement this philosophy into Stone Creek Coffee. Established in 1993, Stone Creek built their foundation on the ideology “that we have an obligation to care for those around us.”

The Start of Stone Creek

What started out as a storefront in Whitefish Bay has grown to numerous locations throughout southern Wisconsin thanks to this perspective. Fueled by this mindset, the team at Stone Creek Coffee greets “each day with a sense of wonder and aspiration.” Managing a farm-to-cup coffee shop has its trials and tribulations, when confronting obstacles head-on “as a little child plays in a creek, we want to bring that same sense of play and exploration to what we face each day.” Instead of being a large, corporate monopoly, Stone Creek’s mindset is to better the social circles they are already connected with. The staff at Stone Creek don’t take the world as is, instead, they look at the world as the greatness it can rise to.

Stone Creek’s Values

The base principle for each barista at Stone Creek is to make exemplary coffee encounters for every patron that supports the shop. Whether you wander into a shop, navigate their website, or work with Stone Creek as a business partner, you can notice the positive attitude they put out into the world.

Stepping into the Future with Stone Creek

As Stone Creek walks into the future, they plan to keep a team of compassionate individuals who care and motivate each other to be the best people they can be. Alongside creating a healing cup of coffee, Stone Creek wants to develop a coffee scene rooted in “inclusion and care for others.” By keeping track of employees’, patrons,’ partners’, and communities’ well-being, Stone Creek Coffee will make the world a better place, one cup of coffee at a time.
