Sit Down, To Go, or At Home
If you’re fixing for some homemade Mexican, you’re looking at the right spot. El Sabor De Puebla does an excellent job preparing quality plates with products grown in the local area. Even if you aren’t looking to sit down, you can always stop at their wholesale store Tamaleria el Poblano. The kitchen in their wholesale store prepares tamales fresh every day for El Sabor de Puebla as well as the Willy Street Co-op, Santa Maria, Yuremi, Enriques Market, Tienda Oaxaquena, and others! While Tamaleria el Poblano opened in the spring of 2013, the owners really wanted to serve people food a little closer to home. Two years later in April, they opened El Sabor de Puebla to present food from their home state, Puebla, in the southern region of Mexico. El Sabor de Puebla makes classic dishes from the area such as mole sauce, tacos, picaditas, and quesadillas made from scratch filled with huitlacoche or squash blossom.
A Family Function
Reynas, the owner of both the restaurant and wholesale store, works closely with his brother, Juan, who owns Los Abuelos Farley Farm, to provide the restaurant with organic seasonal vegetables grown locally. The Los Abuelos Farley Farm is in Verona, just outside of Madison, and the vegetables are grown in the incubator on the Farley Farm. Stop in and support your hardworking neighbors at El Sabor de Puebla, Tamaleria el Poblano, and Los Abuelos Farley Farm!
