What is Monkey Bar Gymnasium?

Monkey Bar Gymnasium is not another run-of-the-mill gym for you to waltz into, pay a monthly fee, and be left to your own devices to figure out a workout routine. Jon Hinds has been working as a Strength Coach since he was sixteen and played in the NBA when he was twenty-five. Twenty-one years ago in January of 2000, Jon took a chance on opening, “the first 100% functional training gym in the country.” The reasoning behind the risk was, “all gyms at this time used machines for fitness…not the body! I argued that true health is based on the pure intuitive movements of running, jumping, crawling, climbing, reacting, and rolling mixed with natural whole body alignment training and plant-strong nutrition.”

Who is Jon Hinds?

Jon didn’t develop these methods overnight, however. With thirty years of experience under his belt, Jon has worked as an NBA and NFL Strength Coach, Celebrity Personal Trainer, received his Black Belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and invented more than thirty different types of exercise equipment with patents. Jon Hinds is also a certified Neuro-Muscular Therapist and Certified Reflexologist, as well as BAASE Master Instructor and Yoga Therapist.

The Hinds have been teaching their yoga and alignment-founded BAASE program for more than twenty years. Aside from addressing your body’s issues, BAASE re-trains your movements to make sure everything moving part is flowing how it is supposed to as well as using the right muscles for specific movements. Furthermore, BAASE will assist in mobility while moving from one pose to another while holding the proper posture.
