Bunky’s Catering

Vito “Bunky” and Ninfa Capadona established Bunky’s in the 1930s in Madison’s Italian-American Greenbush neighborhood. Initially starting out on the corner of Park Street and Regent Street, Bunky’s was part of the first group of Italian restaurants in Madison. In fact, “Bunky’s was one of three restaurants that made up ‘Spaghetti Corner’.” Thirty years into the late 1960s, if you lived in Madison and wanted to eat spaghetti and meatballs, Bunky’s was the spot to take your hot-date out to. Additionally, Bunky’s was ahead of the bandwagon when it came to restaurants serving pizza.

When the 1970s came rolling in, Bunky’s changed their direction. The infrastructure was demolished and Pino’s Restaurant and Bunky’s Nightclub took its place. The nightclub became a happening place for musicians to play live in front of an audience. It wasn’t until about twenty years when the great-granddaughter of the Capadona’s, Teresa Pullara, decided to bring back the theme of the original restaurant with her husband, Rachid Ouabel, in 2004. The two took a chance and added Mediterranean food with Italian food at a new building on Atwood Avenue.

Twelve years later, the couple came up with a new idea for the company in April of 2016. Pullara and Ouabel decided to use the restaurant space as a place for folks to rent out for private parties and events or they could choose to have the company cater to the customers’ home or space. Furthermore, Bunky’s Catering is now operating out of twenty different locations throughout Madison.
